Matters of the Heart - Part 2

I welcome you to the second installment on a series that celebrates love and relationships. Life is made up of many fleeting moments that come and go like a wisp of smoke. Love is like that too. Those special moments that are shared between two people who have connected in the deeper realms of the heart. And that is why photography is so crucial. How else can you capture those moments exactly as they occur? The playful taunts and teasing, the communication no one else understands when you look into your loved ones eyes; the smiles and laughter...

In the following photos, I hope to inspire your thoughts on loving relationships. For more on this theme I invite you to view my album titled 'Lovebirds' on our facebook page Cognito Studios (link here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150385070751283.354175.28222291282&type=3)

All intimacy is rare -- that's what makes it precious. And it involves the revelation of one's self and the loving gaze upon another's true self (no makeup, no fancy car, no defensive charm, no seduction) -- that's what makes it so damn hard. Intimacy requires honesty and kindness in almost equal measure (a little more kindness, I think), trust and trustworthiness, forgiveness and the capacity to be forgiven . . . It's more than worth it -- just don't let them tell you it's bilss.

- Amy Bloom

The giving of love is an education in itself.

- Eleanor Roosevelt
